
Each year we give a scholarship out to one junior. This year we are giving one to one of our seniors, teens, juniors and one wee warrior. This might be you.
This win entitles the receiver to train for one year for free. This is a fantastic prize and will only go to the person who have shown the most improvement, the right attitude to training and the true spirit of martial arts.
The winners will be announced next week in Class.

Kid Power Kick-a-thon
This weekend 10th December at 2pm
We are hosting our first annual Kid Power Kick-a-thon and fundraiser for the new equipment to help develop our junior students (that compete) skills to world class standard. Our juniors have won many Irish titles and now we want to put them on the world stage and we need to bring their standard up to world level. The seminar will be hosted on 10th December at 2pm in Martial Arts School of Fitness facility where kids from all over the community will be breaking boards, setting goals and raising money to donate to help buy new equipment to help develop our national champions to world class standard.
Everyone at Martial Arts School of Fitness, the students and families appreciate your support.
This fun 1 hour workshop teaches kids the fundamentals of being successful while incorporating physical fitness and self protection.
Remember that every new member that donations €5 or above on your card they get a free membership and 2 free classes (Worth €25-€31) as a token of our appreciation for helping inspire these young champions and future leaders. Don’t forget to write their name and detail to claim their gift.
This is a fun workshop for all to enjoy. We would like parents/guardian to come along and hold the wood for their kids to break at the last section of the workshop.

Kid Power Strategies- These are lessons adressing the 5 biggest challenges facing kids today. I will Post one each Tuesday.
Child Safety and Emergency Kit
The first 72 hours searching for a missing person are the most critical. Create your child safety kit and include these items: Finger prints of both hands, a few hair strands for DNA and a current picture. Put in an enclosed bag and keep in a safe place.
When attending a concert, theme park or large venue, take a snap shot of your child with your phone camera. If something urgent happens you will have a current picture with the clothing they are wearing.
This Weeks Lesson
DETERMINATION POINT
When training in any sport, activity, or race, a normal person gets burned out or wants to quit 2—3 times before they get to their goal. Major universities have found that most people want to quit 2—3 times during a race, climbing a mountain, going to college, training to black belt, and in many more examples. If everyone wants to quit, why do these people become champions? They don’t quit! When you start to feel that you want to quit something, remember you are perfectly normal and everyone feels that way at times. You have reached Determination Point!
When you get to Determination Point you have only two choices: Give Up and Quit on Your Goal or Turn It Up and Accomplish your Goal! The difference is: champions don’t quit; they take a deep breath, relax for a moment, focus, and picture their goal. Then, they shift into champion mode. After refocusing, they get a burst of energy called the “Second Wind.” Sometimes, it comes right away and sometimes it takes a few weeks, but all champions will tell you the burst of energy will come!
Try this! When you feel like quitting or get burned out, do this:
Tell yourself, “Quitting is not an option. Champions don’t give up, they turn it up.”
Picture your goal and remind yourself that you do want to accomplish your goal.
Tell a coach or a friend so he/she can encourage you and give you extra help.
When the Burst of Energy comes, have fun training again.
WEEK 4 MISSIONS — DETERMINATION POINT
The next class you get tired in, say out loud “turn it up” and do 5 more repetitions.
Next time you get tired doing homework or a task, say out loud “turn it up” and
keep going until you finish.
Say “turn it up” anytime during the day when you feel tired.
Encourage someone who looks like he/she is getting burned out.
Pick a goal you have and say “I will not quit” 5 times.

Yesterday in class i was talking to the juniors where confidence comes from. It comes from within you. Not what someone says to you or what happens or what you own but how you feel about yourself. Even if everyone around you is being positive and telling you how wonderful and amazing you are ( and believe me you are) this will not matter if you do not feel like this. It’s is how you feel about yourself that really matters. How you feel will create your experience of a great life. Choose your life chose how you feel.

Calories are the amount of energy in food. When you do not use the energy it is stored as fat. It is recommended to do at least 30 minutes to 1 hour a day of physical exercise. Lets look at what activities burn the most amounts of calories in 30 minute
